HARRISBURG— Steam Into History, Inc. DBA Northern Central Railway of York has been awarded a grant of $4,000 from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC), according to Rep. Kate Klunk (R-Hanover). The grant will be used to make improvements that will enhance the guest experience at Northern Central Railway.

"Northern Central Railway is a treasure in the 169th District. Our area's unique railroad and Civil War history attracts history buffs from across the Commonwealth and the nation who are looking to learn more about this formative period," said Klunk. "I am pleased to see these dollars invested in a community asset which brings not only educational value to the area but offers a lot of fun for all ages."

Ashley Zimmerman, the executive director of Northern Central Railway, expressed gratitude for the grant, stating, "The team at Northern Central Railway is grateful for the additional funding provided by this grant. The dollars from PHMC will be used to make needed improvements that will ultimately lead to a better guest experience. We are always looking for ways to expand and refine our programs, and support from grants plays a significant role in making things happen."

The grant awarded by PHMC falls under their criteria for general operating support initiatives within Steam Into History. This funding will be used to further enhance the educational and entertainment value that Northern Central Railway offers to its visitors.
