State Reps. Seth Grove (R-Dover) and Kate Klunk (R-Hanover) have announced $3.7 million in grant money from the School Safety and Security Committee (SSSC) under the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). The representatives emphasized that "safe schools are a top priority" and highlighted the importance of investing in physical improvements to support the needs of students. Grove and Klunk stated, "By investing in physical improvements and supporting the needs of our students we are advancing this goal. All children should feel safe when they attend school."

The grants, totaling $3.7 million, were awarded under various solicitations, including noncompetitive School Mental Health Grants, Formula-Based School Safety and Security Meritorious Grants, Competitive School Safety and Security Grants, and Targeted School Safety Grants for Nonpublic Schools. These grants aim to enhance physical security, provide mental and behavioral health resources, and address school violence.

Specifically for York County, several school districts have received grants for school security improvements. The Central York School District, Crispus Attucks Charter School, Dallastown Area School District, Dover Area School District, and several others have been allocated amounts ranging from $68,000 to $340,859 for enhancing school safety and security measures.

For more information on the grants and programs, interested individuals can visit the PCCD's website for detailed information. Media contacts for Rep. Grove and Rep. Klunk are available for further inquiries.

In conclusion, the announcement of these school security grants by the York County delegation reflects a concerted effort to prioritize student safety and well-being in educational environments.
