WellSpan Health has named Allen Fasnacht as the new vice president for the health system and president of WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital. Fasnacht will be responsible for overseeing operations at the 131-bed hospital, focusing on patient safety, quality, care management, performance improvement, and patient experience.
Fasnacht is currently serving as vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital. He will begin his new role on December 15 and report to Niki Hinckle. Hinckle is set to become senior vice president of WellSpan’s north region in the new year while maintaining her responsibilities as senior vice president of the west region.
“With a proven track record of operational excellence at WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital, Allen is well-positioned to successfully lead this team and our strategic growth in the region,” said Hinckle. “His dedication to empowering our teams to deliver personalized care is unwavering, all in support of our mission to provide exceptional care to our patients.”
During his time at WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital, Fasnacht contributed to integrating the hospital into the WellSpan system and advancing organizational goals related to patient care. He led an initiative that reduced the average length of stay for patients, which helped lower overall costs.
Before joining WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital, Fasnacht held leadership positions at University of Louisville Health in Kentucky, Barnes Jewish Hospital in Missouri, University of California San Francisco Health System, and University of Pennsylvania Health System. Earlier in his career, he was a clinical director at WellSpan York Hospital and worked with other healthcare systems across Central Pennsylvania.
Fasnacht holds certification in executive nursing practice (CENP) and is a member of several professional organizations including the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Organization of Nurse Executives, and Emergency Nurses Association.
