State Rep. Joe D’Orsie has announced that four projects in Pennsylvania’s 47th Legislative District will receive more than $730,000 from the state’s Multimodal Transportation Fund and Small Water and Sewer Program.

“In the interest of public health and safety, it is necessary to invest in our roads and infrastructure,” D’Orsie said. “I’m pleased that our local communities are receiving these dollars.”

The funding includes $300,000 for East Manchester Township for highway improvements along Willow Springs Lane. Manchester Borough will receive $145,137 for storm sewer replacements and road construction. The Northeastern York County Sewer Authority is set to get $186,400 for pump station upgrades at Orchard Business Park. Wrightsville Borough Municipal Authority will receive $100,000 for a water main replacement at Cherry Street and North 4th Street.

The Multimodal Transportation Fund provides grants aimed at encouraging economic development and ensuring a safe transportation system across the Commonwealth. Grants can be used for development, rehabilitation, enhancement of transportation assets in existing communities, streetscape projects, lighting, sidewalk improvements, pedestrian safety initiatives, improved connectivity of transportation assets, and transit-oriented development.

The Small Water and Sewer Program offers grants to municipalities and municipal authorities for water supply systems or flood control projects with costs between $30,000 and $500,000. These funds support construction or improvement of water supply systems as well as sanitary sewer or storm sewer system repairs.

D’Orsie represents Pennsylvania’s 47th Legislative District in York County according to his official website. He has focused on community safety and transportation initiatives in the area and served on key committees. His legislative efforts include advocacy for businesses, families, students and district-wide services through offices located in Hellam and Harrisburg as noted by his office.

D’Orsie has also received recognition such as the Guardian of Small Business designation from the National Federation of Independent Businesses according to his website. He serves areas including Conewago, Manchester, East Manchester, Hellam townships as well as several boroughs within York County as listed by his office.
