WellSpan Health has named Orie Chambers as vice president for the health system and president of WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Chambers will oversee operations at the 141-bed hospital and manage hospital-based services in the region. His responsibilities include ensuring coordination with systemwide processes related to patient safety, quality, care management, performance improvement, and patient experience.
James Stuccio, senior vice president of WellSpan’s east region, commented on the appointment: “Orie brings extensive experience, including clinical service in the United States Air Force, which shaped his strategic and team-building approach. His commitment to team engagement, strong provider relationships and high-quality outcomes will be invaluable as he leads the team in service to the community.”
Chambers had been serving as interim president for eight months before this permanent appointment. He joined WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital in 2011 as clinical director for emergency and behavioral health services. In 2021, he became vice president and chief nursing officer, where he led efforts in staff engagement, operational improvements, patient safety initiatives, and strategies that reduced both patient length of stay and overall care costs.
His new role became effective November 30. Chambers reports directly to James Stuccio.
