Rep. Lloyd Smucker, who represents Pennsylvania’s 11th district in the U.S. Congress, recently highlighted legislative developments and events on his social media account.
On December 3, 2025, Smucker encouraged followers to watch a House Budget Committee event: “Tune in to today’s Member Day Hearing of @HouseBudgetGOP. I appreciate my colleagues sharing their perspectives and ideas.”
The following day, he announced the passage of two bills he introduced in the House of Representatives: “Claiming Age Clarity Act (H.R.5284) and Social Security Child Protection Act (H.R.5348). Two bills I introduced that help seniors claim retirement benefits and protect families from fraud have PASSED the House of Representatives. Thanks to my colleagues for supporting these” (December 4, 2025).
On December 5, Smucker thanked House Majority Leader Steve Scalise for sending treats in celebration of the legislation’s passage: “Thank you, @stevescalise for the delicious cookie cakes to celebrate the House passage of my Claiming Age Clarity Act and Social Security Child Protection Act. It sure is sweet strengthening and improving Social Security for the American people, one step at a time!”
Lloyd Smucker has represented Pennsylvania’s 11th District since 2017 after serving in the Pennsylvania Senate from 2009 to 2016. He was born in Lancaster County in 1964 and continues to reside there.
