About the Tome 5k:
The Tome 5k is in memory of Officer David Tome, who was a 1996 SGAHS alumnus and an officer with the Northern York County Regional Police Department. Officer Tome was tragically killed in the line of duty in 2008. The Tome Memorial 5k was started to raise funds for safe driving courses for students. That need has since been met, and the Tome 5k continues in his honor. Officer Tome was one of the inaugural honorees of the Veterans Memorial Garden at the High School, and so it is fitting for the proceeds of the Tome Hero 5k to go toward the installation of lighting at the Garden.
