STEWARTSTOWN - Sen. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) will be hosting the second annual Farmers' Appreciation Breakfast on Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Eureka Volunteer Fire & Ambulance Company in Stewartstown. The event aims to foster collaboration and address the pressing issues facing farmers in the region.
"I look forward to welcoming members of our strong and vibrant agriculture community at this upcoming breakfast meeting," said Phillips-Hill. "This annual event is an excellent platform to foster collaboration and address the pressing issues facing our farmers and is helpful as these hardworking individuals gear up for planting season."
The breakfast meeting will provide a unique platform for local farmers to engage in discussions, share concerns, and explore ways to enhance the agricultural landscape in the region. The event will feature an update from Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding.
"The collaboration between education and our local agriculture sector is critical and this event will allow just that," Phillips-Hill emphasized.
In addition to Secretary Redding, attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from York College of Pennsylvania's Dean Charles MacVean, who recently launched the new Environmental Horticulture program at the college. Phillips-Hill believes that this program is a major addition to the local community and will enhance the agriculture-related educational landscape for students in York County.
The event is open to the public and participation is free of charge. Attendees are required to register online or call Phillips-Hill's office to reserve their spot.
This event is an important gathering for the agricultural community, providing an opportunity for farmers to come together, discuss their concerns, and explore solutions.
