A group of state policymakers will convene to provide a tool aimed at protecting children from sexually explicit material and to highlight some of the books available in school libraries. The public is invited to attend.

"Simply asking the question 'What is in my child’s school library?' will bring instant ridicule and you may be called a 'Book Burner' or a 'Book Banning Enemy of Free Speech.' This type of name-calling is meant to bully and intimidate parents into remaining silent," the organizers stated.

Representatives Tom Jones (R-Lancaster) and Barb Gleim (R-Cumberland) will be joined by members of the General Assembly, including Senator Cris Dush (R-25).

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. It will take place in the lobby of Ryan Office Building, Capitol Complex, Harrisburg. The press event will be livestreamed, barring any technical difficulties.
