York County students and Junior Achievement of South Central Pennsylvania (JASCPA) will benefit from a state training grant, according to an announcement by Reps. Joe D’Orsie (R-Manchester), Seth Grove (R-Dover), Dawn Keefer (R-Dillsburg), Kate Klunk (R-Hanover), Mike Jones (R-York Township), and Wendy Fink (R-Red Lion).
The grant, amounting to $625,000, is provided by the state Department of Education. It aims to enhance educational programs in York County and 13 other counties served by JASCPA. The funding will provide students with opportunities to learn from industry professionals.
"Junior Achievement impacts students far beyond the classroom, and we are excited York County students will see enhanced learning opportunities as a result of this grant," the representatives said. "By imparting practical skills, students are better prepared for successful, family-sustaining careers. We look forward to seeing how the grant dollars are invested for the betterment of local students."
JASCPA is based in York and serves 95 school districts across 14 counties. In the 2023-24 academic year, JASCPA reached nearly 110,000 students in both private and public schools from Pre-K to 12th grade. Nationally, Junior Achievement engages over 3 million students annually in classrooms and after-school locations.
