Representatives Joe D’Orsie, Seth Grove, Dawn Keefer, Kate Klunk, Mike Jones, and Wendy Fink have announced that Junior Achievement of South Central Pennsylvania (JASCPA) will receive a jobs training grant from the state Department of Education. The grant aims to enhance educational services in classrooms.
The $625,000 grant will benefit school districts in York County and 13 other counties served by JASCPA. It will support educational programs and provide students with opportunities to learn from industry professionals.
"Junior Achievement impacts students far beyond the classroom, and we are excited York County students will see enhanced learning opportunities as a result of this grant," the representatives said. "By imparting practical skills, students are better prepared for successful, family-sustaining careers. We look forward to seeing how the grant dollars are invested for the betterment of local students."
JASCPA is based in York and serves 95 school districts across 14 counties. In the 2023-24 academic year, JASCPA reached nearly 110,000 students in both private and public schools from Pre-K to 12th grade. Nationally, Junior Achievement reaches over 3 million students annually in various classrooms and after-school locations.
