State Representative Seth Grove, alongside members of the Heilman family, will conduct a ceremony to officially designate a bridge in York County as the Corporal William E. Heilman Memorial Bridge. The event is scheduled for Friday, October 18, at 9 a.m. and will take place at St. David's Evangelical Congressional Church located at 2411 Oakland Road, Dover, PA.

The bridge, which carries PA Route 74 in Dover Township, is being named in honor of Corporal William Emory Heilman. Born on September 11, 1947, in York County, Heilman joined the United States Marine Corps on May 26, 1966. During his service in the Vietnam War with the Third Marine Amphibious Force's H&S Company, he was killed by an artillery rocket mortar on May 5, 1968.

Corporal Heilman's military honors include the Purple Heart and several other commendations such as the Combat Action Ribbon and National Defense Service Medal.
