The York County Republican delegation to the Pennsylvania General Assembly has announced that nearly $6.1 million in grant funding from the state's Local Share Account (LSA) program will be allocated to various projects in York County. The funding, derived from Pennsylvania gaming revenue, is intended to support a range of initiatives aimed at improving local infrastructure and community services.
The delegation includes Senators Kristin Phillips-Hill and Mike Regan, along with Representatives Seth Grove, Kate Klunk, Dawn Keefer, Mike Jones, Joe D’Orsie, and Wendy Fink. In a joint statement, they expressed satisfaction with the Commonwealth Financing Authority's decision to fund these projects: “These projects vary greatly, but all will improve the lives of current and future York County residents,” they said. “We are glad the Commonwealth Financing Authority recognized the importance of these projects and what they mean to our constituents. It is a privilege to advocate for these investments in the place we call home.”
The grants cover a variety of projects across York County. Some notable allocations include $225,000 for the Scout Camp Tuckahoe rehabilitation project in Franklin Township and $982,632 for construction on East Pennsylvania Avenue in Stewartstown Borough. Other funded initiatives include roof renovations at the Jewish Community Centre in York Township ($216,750), equipment purchases for Manheim Township ($439,299), and storm water improvements in West Manchester Township ($624,828).
The Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), an independent agency responsible for overseeing economic growth programs in Pennsylvania, approved these grants.
