Reps. Tom Jones and Barb Gleim, both Republicans, will lead the gathering alongside other members of the General Assembly, including Sen. Cris Dush. They plan to address concerns that parents face when questioning the content available in school libraries.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, October 4th at 10 a.m., taking place in the lobby of the Ryan Office Building within the Capitol Complex in Harrisburg. Organizers have arranged for live streaming on RepTomJones.com and RepGleim.com, assuming no technical issues arise.
According to Jones and Gleim, parents who inquire about their children's school library contents often face ridicule and are labeled as "Book Burners" or "Book Banning Enemies of Free Speech." This rhetoric aims to discourage parents from voicing their concerns.
