Rep. Tom Jones and the House Republican Policy Committee, led by Chairman Josh Kail, held the third hearing in a series focused on business-related tax reform aimed at fostering economic growth in Pennsylvania. The session, titled "Job-Creating Tax Reform," featured testimonies from Neal Lesher of the PA Chamber of Business and Industry, Philip Fullerton of John E. Fullerton Inc., and Eric Wenger from RKL.

The testifiers highlighted the uncompetitive business environment in Pennsylvania, emphasizing the need for changes to the Corporate Net Income Tax (CNIT) and net operating loss (NOL) deduction. Discussions also included reforms for S-Corporations versus C-Corporations.

"As a business owner, I am very familiar with burdensome bureaucracy and the ways our government gets in the way," stated Rep. Jones. "If we want businesses to thrive in Pennsylvania, we must reform our tax code, or else we’ll continue losing to other states."

Chairman Kail added, "Without tax reform, we cannot expect to create the number of family-sustaining jobs needed to empower our economy. House Republicans are committed to reforming taxes so that businesses big and small can proudly call Pennsylvania their home."

Eric Wenger expressed confidence in his testimony: "I am confident that if each of these suggested tax reforms were enacted, Pennsylvania could dispel its reputation as being unfriendly for business."
