Rep. Kate Klunk of Hanover is organizing a Senior Scam Jam for residents of the 169th District. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 21, from 9 to 11 a.m. at The Markets at Hanover, located at 1649 Broadway St. in Hanover.

The initiative, in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities, aims to educate seniors on how to avoid scams that could lead to identity theft and financial fraud. The event will feature interactive games designed to teach participants about common scam tactics.

“Aug. 21 is National Senior Citizens Day, and I want to provide those in my district with the opportunity to learn more about the tactics scammers and fraudsters use to gain access to sensitive information,” said Klunk. “Not only is Senior Scam Jam an educational event, but it’s going to be a fun time with games and activities for those in attendance. I hope to see many people take advantage of this free event.”

Attendance requires an RSVP. Interested individuals can contact Klunk’s office by calling 717-630-8942 or visiting her official website.
