York County's Junior Achievement of South Central Pennsylvania (JASCPA) will benefit from a state Department of Education grant aimed at enhancing job training services in classrooms. The announcement was made by Representatives Joe D’Orsie, Seth Grove, Dawn Keefer, Kate Klunk, Mike Jones, and Wendy Fink.
The $625,000 grant is intended to support school districts in York County and 13 other counties served by JASCPA. The funds will enable educational programs that offer students the chance to learn from industry professionals.
"Junior Achievement impacts students far beyond the classroom, and we are excited York County students will see enhanced learning opportunities as a result of this grant," the representatives stated. "By imparting practical skills, students are better prepared for successful, family-sustaining careers. We look forward to seeing how the grant dollars are invested for the betterment of local students."
JASCPA operates out of York and serves 95 school districts across 14 counties. During the 2023-24 academic year, JASCPA reached nearly 110,000 students from Pre-K through 12th grade in both private and public schools. On a national scale, Junior Achievement serves over 3 million students annually across more than 127,817 classrooms and after-school locations.
