On March 24, 2025, Smucker expressed gratitude towards Abigail and her mother Jillian from Lancaster County for their visit. He highlighted their advocacy work for individuals with Down syndrome. "Abigail is a bright and happy two-year-old with Down syndrome. I want to thank Abigail and her mother Jillian, of Lancaster County, for visiting with me to share their stories and the great work they do advocating for individuals with Down syndrome."
The following day, on March 25, he announced the House GOP's success in passing a budget resolution aligned with what he described as "the mandate the American people delivered in November." He called upon Senate colleagues to further advance this resolution. ".@HouseGOP got it done. Later that day, Smucker discussed fiscal concerns during a meeting with Ray Dalio. He emphasized the urgency of addressing national debt issues to avert a potential sovereign debt crisis. "Great discussion with Ray Dalio today. We know that a catastrophic sovereign debt crisis is on the horizon if we do not act."
