West Manchester Township has received a state grant of $57,500 to assist in updating its sewage facilities plan. The funding was announced by Representative Seth Grove of Dover. According to Grove, "Planning for future growth is a key part of running a successful municipality. This grant will assist West Manchester Township with surveying its existing sewer capabilities and plan for future development." He also expressed gratitude towards the Commonwealth Financing Authority for approving the grant.

The sewage facilities plan aims to map current lots and structures, identify municipal boundaries, and assess physical characteristics like streams, drainage basins, and potable water supplies. Additionally, it will include details about existing sewage facilities, such as the location, size, and ownership of treatment facilities, pumping stations, and force mains along with assessing their capacities and potential issues.

The plan will also focus on future growth and land development. It will summarize municipal and county planning documents, identify existing and future development areas, and project population and dwellings. The Commonwealth Financing Authority awarded this grant through its Sewage Facilities Program, requiring a 50% local match.
