Two initiatives in the 196th Legislative District have secured state funding totaling over $131,000, as announced by Rep. Seth Grove (R-Dover).
In New Salem Borough, $85,268 has been allocated for the Robin Hood-Palmer project. This project involves reconstructing a 600-foot section of Robin Hood Drive, which has been damaged by subsurface groundwater. Additionally, the broken concrete curb will be replaced. The Palmer Avenue component aims to replace a 230-foot section of the road.
The APJ Foundation has been granted $45,753 to design a building addition at its location in West Manchester Township. The planned expansion will enlarge the existing training facility, adding a classroom, restroom, and a single-bay automotive service garage. The APJ Foundation provides mental health services, mentorship, and automotive training to at-risk youth aged 16-24.
“These projects will be a benefit to residents across the district and beyond," Grove expressed. "I look forward to seeing how they will help improve the quality of life in our community.”
Furthermore, Grove played a role in obtaining $64,778 for the Jewish Community Center. This funding is designated for the installation of a new lighted, double-sided sign at its Hollywood Drive location. The sign will display the center's name and logo and include an LED digital screen to share information about upcoming events and resources, enhancing community awareness of its programming.
These initiatives are financed through the Local Share Account program managed by the Commonwealth Financing Authority. Eligible projects must serve the public interest and aim to enhance the quality of life for community members.
