The York County Republican delegation to the Pennsylvania General Assembly has announced nearly $6.1 million in grant funding for projects in York County. The funds, derived from Pennsylvania gaming revenue, were awarded through the state's competitive Local Share Account (LSA) program.
The delegation includes Senators Kristin Phillips-Hill and Mike Regan, along with Representatives Seth Grove, Kate Klunk, Dawn Keefer, Mike Jones, Joe D’Orsie, and Wendy Fink.
“These projects vary greatly, but all will improve the lives of current and future York County residents,” the delegation stated. “We are glad the Commonwealth Financing Authority recognized the importance of these projects and what they mean to our constituents. It is a privilege to advocate for these investments in the place we call home.”
The grants will fund various initiatives across York County:
- Scout Camp Tuckahoe rehabilitation project in Franklin Township: $225,000
- Jewish Community Centre roof renovation project in York Township: $216,750
- York College of Pennsylvania renovation project in York City: $349,978
- Sidewalk completion by York County Agricultural Society in West Manchester Township: $300,000
- Hanover Trolley Trail Expansion in Heidelberg Township: $500,000
- Wildland Urban Interface project by York Area United Fire and Rescue: $60,500
- Equipment purchase for Manheim Township: $439,299
- Windy Hill Park construction in Shrewsbury Township: $220,000
- Stewartstown Borough construction on East Pennsylvania Avenue: $982,632
- Stormwater improvements in Hayward-Warwick area of West Manchester Township: $624,828
- Vehicle purchases for West York Borough police and public works: $150,000
- Church Lane improvements in Felton Borough: $106,459
- Krebs Park improvements in Glen Rock Borough: $718,699
- Meeting room construction at administrative building in Hanover Borough: $385,780
- Equipment purchase for Heidelberg Township: $131,790
- EMS equipment upgrades for Southern York County EMS in Chanceford Township: $156,682
- Mower and dump truck purchase for Fairview Township: $200,000
- Dump truck and plow purchase for Fawn Township: $339,373
These grants were approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), an independent agency responsible for managing funding programs aimed at fostering economic growth within Pennsylvania.
