Senator Regan announces RACP grants supporting Cumberland and York county developments

Senator Mike Regan has announced the approval of nearly $20 million in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grants for Cumberland and York counties. The funding will support 11 projects aimed at enhancing local infrastructure, promoting small business growth, and creating jobs.

The RACP is a state-administered program through the Office of the Budget that supports economic, cultural, civic, and recreational projects. Senator Regan highlighted the importance of these grants by stating, “Today’s approval of nearly $20 million in RACP funding is a major step forward for Cumberland and York counties. These projects are more than investments; they’re commitments to improving community infrastructure, expanding economic opportunity, and creating jobs that enhance the quality of life for residents across the 31st District. I am proud to support initiatives that will continue making our communities stronger and more resilient.”

In Cumberland County, projects receiving funds include Cedar Run Business Park Sitework with $1 million allocated for site preparation including ADA-compliant sidewalks and stormwater management. Messiah Lifeways Campus Revitalization receives $500,000 to upgrade HVAC systems with modern technology. Tavern 1891 at Ashcombe Mansion Property will use $5 million to build a restaurant featuring unique architectural elements.

York County projects include Community Progress Council Integrated Services Building which receives $500,000 for acquiring a site in York to centralize community services. Joseph Machine Company Facility Expansion gets $2 million for facility growth to increase operations and employment. New Birth Freedom Council Tuckahoe is granted $1.3 million for renovating Historic Hall into a meeting space for Scouts.

Other funded projects in York County are NYCRP Operational and Training Headquarters with $2 million dedicated to constructing facilities in Manchester Township. Peacock Lifeways York Expansion plans receive $500,000 for recreational development along Yellow Breeches Creek. Precision Custom Components Building 11 gets $2.5 million towards building manufacturing facilities.

Red Land High School Athletic Fields are set to receive $2 million for sports field renovations while York County Public Safety Training Center obtains $2.1 million to replace outdated structures with new training amenities.
