Senator Kristin Phillips-Hill of York County has voiced her disapproval following the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's (FERC) decision regarding a preliminary permit application submitted by Yes Energy Storage LLC. The commission voted on the application during its recent meeting.

In her statement, Senator Phillips-Hill criticized FERC's actions, describing them as part of "one of the Biden Administration’s last acts in office." She expressed concern that the project could negatively impact southern York County, stating it would "destroy lives and livelihoods."

Phillips-Hill also questioned the implications of such policies, asking, "What message are we sending when we reward irresponsible policies and punish the very people who put food on our tables?" She highlighted concerns about energy consumption patterns in neighboring states, suggesting they place an undue burden on Pennsylvania to meet energy demands.

Looking ahead, Senator Phillips-Hill indicated her intention to collaborate with the Trump Administration to halt the project. She emphasized potential threats to preserved farmland and existing electric generation along the Susquehanna River.
