As the 2025-26 Legislative Session begins, Representative Joe D’Orsie from Manchester is preparing to introduce legislation aimed at establishing term limits for congressional office holders. This move is part of his commitment to advocate for such limits.

D'Orsie stated, “making it potentially the most bi-partisan issue there is at this political moment.” He added, “But polling and politics aside, most of my constituents agree that holding public office isn’t supposed to be a career or a platform with which to make a fortune.”

The proposed legislation will be introduced through Article V of the U.S. Constitution. This involves an application to call a convention of states focused on federal term limits. For this convention to take effect, 34 out of 50 states must pass identical resolution language.

Representative D’Orsie and his colleagues are set to take their oaths of office for the new legislative session on January 7.
