York County receives nearly $6.1 million grant funding from LSA program

The York County Republican delegation to the Pennsylvania General Assembly has announced grant funding from the state's Local Share Account (LSA) program. The grants, totaling nearly $6.1 million from Pennsylvania gaming revenue, are designated for various projects across York County.

The delegation includes Senators Kristin Phillips-Hill and Mike Regan, along with Representatives Seth Grove, Kate Klunk, Dawn Keefer, Mike Jones, Joe D’Orsie, and Wendy Fink. They collectively stated: “These projects vary greatly, but all will improve the lives of current and future York County residents. We are glad the Commonwealth Financing Authority recognized the importance of these projects and what they mean to our constituents. It is a privilege to advocate for these investments in the place we call home.”

Funding allocations include $225,000 for Scout Camp Tuckahoe rehabilitation in Franklin Township and $216,750 for roof renovation at the Jewish Community Centre in York Township. Other significant grants include $349,978 for renovations at York College of Pennsylvania and $300,000 for a sidewalk project by the York County Agricultural Society in West Manchester Township.

Additional projects receiving funding include a $500,000 expansion of the Hanover Trolley Trail in Heidelberg Township and $60,500 for new vehicles and equipment for York Area United Fire and Rescue’s Wildland Urban Interface project.

Manheim Township will receive $439,299 to purchase new municipal equipment while Shrewsbury Township's Windy Hill Park construction project will get $220,000. Stewartstown Borough's East Pennsylvania Avenue construction is set to receive $982,632.

Other notable grants include storm water improvements in West Manchester Township with a budget of $624,828; vehicle purchases for West York Borough costing $150,000; Church Lane improvements in Felton Borough valued at $106,459; Glen Rock Borough's Krebs Park enhancements at $718,699; meeting room construction in Hanover Borough amounting to $385,780; large equipment purchases in Heidelberg Township worth $131,790; EMS upgrades in Chanceford Township priced at $156,682; Fairview Township's mower and dump truck acquisition costing $200,000; and Fawn Township's dump truck and plow purchase set at $339,373.

These grants were approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA), an independent agency responsible for managing programs that support economic growth within Pennsylvania.
