State Representatives from York County have announced that Junior Achievement of South Central Pennsylvania (JASCPA) will receive a significant jobs training grant from the state Department of Education. The grant, amounting to $625,000, is aimed at enhancing educational services in classrooms across York County and 13 other counties served by JASCPA.
The representatives expressed their enthusiasm for the opportunities this funding will provide. "Junior Achievement impacts students far beyond the classroom, and we are excited York County students will see enhanced learning opportunities as a result of this grant," they stated. They emphasized the importance of imparting practical skills to students to prepare them for successful careers and expressed anticipation about how the funds will benefit local students.
JASCPA operates out of York and serves 95 school districts across 14 counties. In the 2023-24 academic year, it reached nearly 110,000 students in both private and public schools ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade. On a national level, Junior Achievement impacts over three million students annually in various educational settings.
