Grant funding has been allocated to 11 first responder companies in the 94th Legislative District, according to Representative Wendy Fink. The funding is part of the PA Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program, which is overseen by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.

The grant program supports projects such as facility construction or renovation, equipment purchase or repair, training, and debt reduction for fire and ambulance services. "Every day, District 94’s fire and EMS personnel work to ensure our communities are protected when an emergency arises," stated Fink. "These awards are a token of our appreciation that will allow our local companies, many of which are volunteer run, to make needed equipment and safety upgrades. I’m glad to see these dollars invested in critical services without using any General Fund tax revenue."

The grants awarded within the district include: Airville Fire Co., $12,018; Alliance Fire and Rescue Services Inc., $28,322; Craley Community Fire Co., $14,170; East Prospect Fire Co., $12,879; Lake Clarke Rescue Inc., $12,018; Laurel Fire Co. No. 1, $13,094; New Bridgeville Memorial Fire Co., $12,233; Red Lion Area Ambulance Association, $15,000; Springettsbury Township Volunteer Fire Co., $12,879; Southern York County EMS, $45,000; York Area United Fire and Rescue, $20,000.

The funding amounts depend on recipients submitting their grant agreements with the Office of State Fire Commissioner.
