Representative Lloyd Smucker has recently shared a series of updates regarding his activities and engagements through his Twitter platform. The tweets, posted in early April 2025, address national fiscal concerns, a recognition of innovation among students, and legislative commitments. Smucker, currently serving as the U.S. Congress representative for Pennsylvania’s 11th district, replaced Joe Pitts in 2017 after previously serving in the Pennsylvania Senate.

On April 7, 2025, Rep. Smucker discussed the national debt which now exceeds $36 trillion. He emphasized the urgency to "change our fiscal trajectory" during a conversation with RJ Harris on WHP580, primarily focusing on the Senate’s amendments to the budget resolution. He invited followers to listen to this discussion via a shared link. "With over $36 trillion in national debt, we just change our fiscal trajectory. I talked with WHP580’s RJ Harris this morning about the Senate’s amendments to the budget resolution. Listen to our conversation."

In a post on April 8, Smucker shared an event in Washington where he met the winners of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge. The winners, Claire, Linnea, and Isaac, are senior students at Warwick High School. Smucker commended their app submission, noting that it was "very impressive" and expressed optimism about their future contributions. "It was great to see our 2024 Congressional App Challenge Winners Claire, Linnea, and Isaac, all seniors at Warwick High School, in Washington today! Their app submission was very impressive, these students have a bright future ahead!"

On April 10, Smucker announced his affirmative vote on a legislative matter after securing commitments from key political figures, including the President and notable congressional leaders. He emphasized that the final bill is expected to maintain a fiscally disciplined approach, consistent with the House’s budget resolution. More details were provided in his full statement, linked in the post. "I voted yes today after we received firm commitments from @POTUS, @SpeakerJohnson, @SteveScalise, and @LeaderJohnThune that the final bill will reflect the same fiscally disciplined approach outlined in the House’s budget resolution."

Lloyd Smucker has been notably active in congressional matters as well as representing the interests of his constituents. Serving Pennsylvania’s 11th district since 2017, he succeeds Joe Pitts and brings his previous experience from the Pennsylvania Senate to his current role in the U.S. Congress.
