Cost of college went up for all students at Pennsylvania State University-Penn State York

In-state tuition and fees rose 0.1 percent for 2018-19 at Pennsylvania State University-Penn State York, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Pennsylvania residents paid $14,468 to attend the four-year public institution this year – $8 more than the $14,460 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 59.2 percent more than residents this year, or $23,028. Their price tag grew 2.9 percent from $22,378 in 2017-18.

About 64 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Pennsylvania residents. About 8 percent are residents of other states and 28 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 66 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 147 students received grants or scholarships totaling $963,039 and 124 students took out student loans totaling more than $799,964.

Including all undergraduates (948), 686 students used grants or scholarships totaling $3.4 million, and 440 students took out $2.8 million in federal student loans.
