York County recently issued the following announcement.

Assistance is Available During Medicare Open Enrollment

From: Wednesday 17 November 2021 at 08:00am

To: Wednesday 17 November 2021 at 04:30pm

Pennsylvania Medicare Education & Decision Insight, PA MEDI (formerly APPRISE), through the York County Area Agency on Aging, will offer free personalized counseling during Medicare’s Annual Open Enrollment Period, which begins October 15 and ends December 7.

During Medicare Open Enrollment, Medicare beneficiaries have the option to compare and switch their Medicare Advantage Plan or Part D Prescription Drug Plan with new upcoming plans for 2022. These plans can change yearly. Premiums, deductibles, cost sharing and drug formularies are just a few of the things that can change with your plan. Open Enrollment only happens once a year, so it’s important to take advantage of this time period and make sure you have a plan that fits your needs and budget. Even if you’re happy with your current plan, it’s always a good idea to compare your options and review your plan to see what changes will happen in 2022.

Throughout the annual open enrollment period, Medicare beneficiaries will be able to receive counseling assistance offered by trained PA MEDI counselors.  In an effort to protect clients and counselors from the community spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), plan comparisons will be conducted remotely. In person plan reviews may be available upon request.  Appointments are necessary and can be made by calling the PA MEDI scheduling line at 717-771-9042 or 1-800-632-9073.
