Rep. Lloyd Smucker, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania's 11th district, shared his perspectives via social media on various national issues and personal sentiments over the past week.

On April 15, Smucker noted the significance of Tax Day, emphasizing the potential impact on citizens if certain tax cuts expire. He remarked, "Today is Tax Day. If Congress doesn’t act, middle-class and small business tax cuts will expire at the end of the year. @HouseGOP is fighting to renew these tax cuts to allow families to keep more of their hard-earned dollars."

Following this, on April 16, Smucker highlighted the importance of Section 199A, particularly for the agricultural sector. He encouraged readers to reference local testimony, stating, "Section 199A is critical for local farmers. Don’t just take my word for it, read what Manor Township dairy farmer Steve Harnish says. I’m proud to lead the effort in the House to make Section 199A permanent."

Amidst the legislative topics, Smucker took a moment on April 18 to extend his warm wishes for the religious observance of Good Friday, simply stating, "Wishing everyone a very blessed Good Friday."

Lloyd Smucker has served in the U.S. Congress since 2017 after succeeding Joe Pitts. He represents Pennsylvania's 11th District and previously served in the Pennsylvania Senate from 2009 to 2016. Born in Lancaster County in 1964, Smucker continues his legislative career while residing in Lancaster.
