Heritage Trail Northern Extension Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

On Friday, October 21, 2022, the City of York, and the City of York will be conducting a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Heritage Trail Northern Extension. The ceremony will take place at 11:00 a.m. at the Intersection of N Pershing Avenue and W Gay Avenue.

The City of York is proud to announce the completion of the Heritage Trail Northern Extension Phase 4. This means the City of York is one step closer to completing the final connection in 2023 to complete the Heritage Rail Trail. When this connection is complete, the trail will be open to travel from the Mason Dixon line to John Rudy Park. The Heritage Trail offers Recreational, Connecting, Health and Fitness, Conservation, and Educational benefits.

The City of York was able to fund this project by receiving $1,006,526.00 in TAP Funds under the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Transportation Alternatives Program for the Heritage Trail Northern Extension Phase 4 Project. The City of York also received $473,000.00 in funding from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
