Pennsylvania's 31st District, which includes Cumberland and York Counties, is set to benefit from $2 million in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grants. Senator Mike Regan announced the funding aimed at transforming and redeveloping areas within Cumberland County, with a focus on job creation.

Regan highlighted that RACP is a grant program managed by the Office of the Budget. It supports regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. "Today’s approval of $2 million will have a large impact on Cumberland County and the surrounding area to aid economic growth and will create over 100 jobs in Cumberland County," stated Regan.

The funded projects include:

- Carlisle Sports Emporium Expansion: This project receives $1 million for renovation and expansion in Middlesex Township. The expansion will increase the venue's size to over 120,000 square feet and is expected to create 101 new jobs.

- Hampden Pool Infrastructure Improvements: With an allocation of $500,000, this project focuses on updating aging infrastructure at Hampden Pool. Plans include adding a family change room and other amenities.

- Mayapple Exterior Expansion and Redevelopment: Also receiving $500,000, this initiative involves demolishing existing structures and constructing a new pavilion in South Middleton Township. It aims to provide additional recreation space as demand grows.

These projects are part of efforts to stimulate economic development in the region while enhancing community facilities.
