State Representative Kate Klunk has announced the allocation of $586,700 in grants for four projects within Pennsylvania's 169th District. The funding is provided by the Community Conservation Partnership Program (C2P2) under the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR).

Klunk expressed her satisfaction with the investment in York County's recreational infrastructure. "We are blessed to live in a beautiful part of the Commonwealth, with many opportunities for outdoor recreation," she stated. "I am happy to see these dollars awarded to DCNR projects, which will further enrich our green spaces for area residents and visitors to enjoy."

The grants have been distributed as follows: Hanover Borough will receive $82,500 to develop a master site plan for Long Arm and Sheppard-Meyers reservoirs; Jefferson Borough is allocated $100,000 for improvements at Donald L. Harbold Community Park; Shrewsbury Township will use $273,700 to rehabilitate Hametown Park; and an additional $130,500 will be used by Shrewsbury Township to acquire land along Strawberry Road for expanding Miller Family Park.

The C2P2 program draws from various state and federal sources such as the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund, Environmental Stewardship Fund, Land and Water Conservation Fund, Pennsylvania Trails Fund, Pennsylvania Heritage Area Program, and ATV Restricted Management Account Fund.
