WellSpan Health has donated a Ford F450 ambulance from its emergency medicine fleet to the Eagle Fire Company in Mount Wolf. This contribution aims to enhance the fire company's water rescue operations in York County and nearby areas.

The vehicle will allow the team to prepare while traveling, potentially improving response times during emergencies. Dr. Michael Seim of WellSpan Health emphasized the importance of such collaborations for providing high-quality care: “When we say that every second counts, we mean that every step of the way. Collaborating with community partners ensures the highest-quality care possible.” He added, “To know that this donation will help improve response times in an emergency underscores our commitment to the communities to serve, beyond just the walls of our hospitals.”

Jacob Bush, chief of Eagle Fire Company, expressed gratitude for WellSpan's support: “Eagle Fire Company is grateful for the dedication and commitment WellSpan has shown with this generous donation of this new water rescue unit to York County and the surrounding communities.” He noted that this upgrade would significantly enhance their rescue capabilities and contribute to saving lives.

The vehicle was officially donated in fall 2024 and has since been put into service by Eagle Fire Company. It now features yellow and white branding consistent with department colors. Previously, it served as part of WellSpan EMS's emergency response fleet but was replaced by a newer model.
