WellSpan Health has announced the promotion of Patricia Donley to senior vice president and chief nursing executive. In her new role, Donley will lead the integration of innovative nursing care models and enhance research efforts within the system.

"Patty brings a focus on nursing operational excellence and continuous improvement to deliver safe, high quality and personalized care across the full spectrum of our system, from our nine hospitals to outpatient care and all of our services where nurses play such a critical role," stated Kasey Paulus, WellSpan Health's executive vice president and chief operating officer. "Her vision and tireless dedication to our care teams, as well as her active work in our communities, makes her an excellent fit for our executive team."

Donley's association with WellSpan spans over three decades, beginning as a volunteer at WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon. Her career trajectory includes roles such as hospital president and system vice president. Previously, she was vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer for the hospital. Her leadership was instrumental in securing funding from Jeanne and Ed Arnold for the establishment of the Jeanne Donlevy Arnold Center for Nursing Innovation. This center focuses on transforming training methods, developing future care models, utilizing AI, and integrating digital technologies to support a robust nursing workforce.

In this position, Donley will report directly to Kasey Paulus.
