Dover Area High School issued the following announcement.
Good Morning Dover Families and Students,
On Monday, the administrative team toured both the middle school and high school building projects to assess the completion of both projects. After much discussion and consideration, we felt it necessary to allow one more week for contractors and our staff to complete essential tasks of each project. Therefore, students in the middle school and high school will start school on their designated day next week ONLINE. It is our intention to have students physically back in the building on Monday, September 14th, however this will be re-evaluated early next week. ALL ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS WILL PHYSICALLY START AS SCHEDULED ON SEPTEMBER 8TH OR 9TH. While we understand this may be an inconvenience, it is important that both schools are as safe, clean, and ready as possible for your student(s).
If your student was scheduled to receive his/her Ipad on the first day of school, please contact Kelly Rudacille at the Administration Building (717-292-3671) to schedule a time to pick it up.
You will be receiving information from your student’s building principal in the next day or so regarding log-in information for their first day.
We are very pleased with the progress of the construction of both the middle and high schools, especially considering some of the material delays due to the pandemic this summer. Not only are we impressed with the ongoing work of both projects, we are thrilled with the design and functionality of the instructional space, and look forward to the day when we are able to showcase both buildings to families and the community.
