Crossroads Middle School issued the following announcement.
Good afternoon Crossroads families,
This afternoon we learned a member of the Crossroads Middle School community has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual is in Cohort B and was last in school on Thursday, October 15, 2020.
Students and staff who had close contact with the individual for 15 minutes or more at a distance of 6 feet or less were notified by phone this afternoon and may also be contacted by the Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA DOH).
What happens now:
- Unless identified as a close contact, students should continue to report to school on their assigned days.
- Classrooms and any affected areas will undergo any additional required sanitation and cleaning in accordance with CDC, PDE, and PA DOH guidance.
- The individual who tested positive and those identified as close contacts will be quarantined as per PA DOH guidance.
- Quarantined students will complete their school work from home via Schoology.
- The CDC recommends you closely monitor your child for possible symptoms for the next 2 to 14 days. The CDC’s website provides a complete listing of symptoms and a self-checker: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html
- If anyone in your household begins to exhibit symptoms, seek medical attention from a health-care provider and notify the school.
Sincerely,
Tracy Dominick, Acting Principal
