YORK COUNTY JUDICIAL CENTER TO RE-OPEN FRIDAY
For immediate release
Sept. 1, 2022
A re-opening of the York County Judicial Center, located at 45 N. George St. in York City, is planned for 8 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 2, following a refrigerant leak in the building’s basement.
The leak has been repaired and clean-up efforts are expected to conclude by Thursday afternoon, allowing for a safe environment for employees and patrons on Friday.
The building was closed on Wednesday and Thursday following the discovery of a leak of refrigeration liquid – released as gas – in the basement mechanical room.
York City Fire Department and the York County Hazmat Team responded to the building, where they discovered the leak and determined its severity. An HVAC contractor later responded to begin mitigation efforts late Wednesday morning.
York County would like to thank all who helped during the incident, in addition to the employees and patrons who may have been inconvenienced this week.
