State Rep. Kate Klunk (R-Hanover) and Rep. Mike Jones (R-York Township) have announced plans to host a free document shredding event for residents of the 169th and 93rd Legislative Districts. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to noon in the parking lot of the Shrewsbury Township building in Glen Rock.

“I am happy to once again provide an opportunity for my constituents to safely dispose of documents containing their personal information, like their Social Security number, credit card information and more,” said Klunk. “Sadly, scammers exploit the information found on personal documents. By shredding unneeded paperwork, we can better protect ourselves from becoming victims of scams and identity theft. I am looking forward to seeing many friends and neighbors utilize this free service.”

“This timely shredding event will provide residents the perfect opportunity to do some spring cleaning,” added Rep. Mike Jones (R-York Township). “By safely disposing of paperwork containing sensitive or personal information, residents can rest assured their privacy and account information will be protected.”

The event is exclusively for residential customers, with no businesses allowed to participate. Participants are advised to remove any paper or binder clips prior to the event, though staples are permitted.

For further inquiries about the event, individuals are encouraged to contact Klunk’s office at 717-630-8942.
