State Representative Seth Grove (R-York) has called on Governor Josh Shapiro to sign House Bill 1993, a bipartisan measure aimed at reforming the operations of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) in Pennsylvania.

“Pharmacists are a critical part of our health care network,” Grove stated. “Unfortunately, many community pharmacies cannot compete under our current laws governing the relationships between pharmacies and PBMs. House Bill 1993 will change this by requiring transparency for prescription costs, banning patient steering, and allowing pharmacists to provide immunizations to more people.”

Grove emphasized the urgency of the matter, saying, “I urge the governor to sign this legislation posthaste to ensure we don’t lose more vital health care providers.”
