York County Republicans secure $2.2 million in community grants

The York County Republican delegation to the House and Senate announced they helped secure $2.2 million in grant funding for communities across the county. The delegation includes Senators Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York) and Mike Regan (R-York/Cumberland), and Representatives Seth Grove (R-Dover), Kate Klunk (R-Hanover), Dawn Keefer (R-Dillsburg), Mike Jones (R-York Township), Wendy Fink (R-Red Lion), and Joe D’Orsie (R-Manchester).

“The grants awarded today will help fund an assortment of projects, including infrastructure improvements, community safety, transportation upgrades, and increased recreational options,” said the members. “We want to thank the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for recognizing the importance of these projects.”

Grants were awarded through CFA programs such as the Multimodal Transportation Fund (MTF) and the Local Share Account (LSA). The MTF provides grant funding to ensure a safe and reliable transportation system is available to all Pennsylvanians. The LSA, funded by gaming revenue, aims to improve citizens' quality of life.

Funding awarded to entities in York County includes:

- $783,750 to Glen Rock Borough from the MTF for streetscape improvements along Main Street.

- $233,500 to West Manchester Township from the MTF for intersection improvements at Lincoln Highway and Salem Church Road.

- $125,925 to Carroll Township from the LSA fund to purchase three new police vehicles.

- $100,000 to Dallastown Borough from the LSA fund for a new truck and sewer inspection equipment.

- $125,925 to Fairview Township from the LSA fund for three police vehicles.

- $106,459 to Felton Borough from the LSA fund for improvements to Church Lane.

- $76,967 to Hallam Borough from the LSA fund for a new pick-up truck with various attachments.

- $156,312 to Heidelberg Township from the LSA fund for an emergency generator and other facility enhancements.

- $164,950 to Manchester Borough from the LSA fund for a bucket truck.

- $54,100 to New Freedom Borough from the LSA fund for an emergency generator serving key community facilities.

- $25,545 to Windsor Borough from the LSA fund for borough building improvements.

- $69,658 to York County Economic Alliance on behalf of Bell Socialization for an accessible van in Penn Township.

- $27,136 to York County Economic Alliance on behalf of Northern Central Railway of York for accessibility upgrades at its historic train station in New Freedom.

- $108,138 to York County Economic Alliance on behalf of TrueNorth for security updates in York City and Hanover Borough.

- $54,592 to York County Economic Alliance on behalf of YMCA of the Roses for exercise equipment at its new facility in Jackson Township.
